The JJM has classified villages into three categories based on their level of implementation and access to Functional Household Tap Connection (FHTC).
Villages that have 100% FHTC coverage and all tested Parameters are under the permissible limits standarized by Jal Jeevan Mission.
Villages that claims to have 100% FHTC coverage and all parameters under permissible limits
Villages have not reached a significant level of FHTC coverage, they are in-progress
The observation of JJM status considers three significant factors:
Provide safe and pure water that is tested to be under the permissible limits of Physical, Chemical and Bacteriological Parameters
Water Quality BIS 10500 Standard should be satisfied
See Standards (at page 21)Supply of drinking water in a household, the supply must be 55+ litres per day for certification
The measure of Extent of FHTC coverage. It must be 100% for certification
To be declared as "Certified" under observation of JJM status, a village must fulfill all three factors.
